1. What is the maximum power rating of a producer?
   

   A producer will supply a maximum of 150 watts per channel.
2. How many lights can be controlled by the Lightscape System?
   

   The Lightscape director can control up to 96 individual channels, each channel can have many lights assigned to it, restricted only by the domestic power capacity.
3. Can I add more than one lamp to a producer channel?
   

   Yes, lamps can be wired in parallel however care must be taken to ensure that the 150W channel limit is not exceeded.
4. If my neighbour installs a similar system will the wireless technology conflict?
   

   The Lightscape system allows you to choose from 16 individual House Codes so providing you select a different house code from you neighbour then they should not interfere. Provided that other 433MHZ equipment (for example Car Remote Key-Fobs) uses a narrow centre frequency the same process can be applied to ensure no interference.
5. Is it ok to install producers outside?
   

   Yes, unlike existing lighting control systems on the market the Lightscape producers are housed in an IP67 rated enclosure which means they are weather proof. When installed in low ground or where flooding can be a problem it is recommended that they are screwed to a post at least one foot above the ground.
6. What audio sources are compatible with the Director unit?
   

   An audio source from any device with a line-level output is compatible. For example most hi-fi components, MP3 players, computers, DVD players or musical instruments.
7. How can I change the colour of the lamps emits?
   

   As part of the comprehensive range of Lightscape accessories, lighting filter gels are available to add colour to your light source.
8. Are the producers compatible with any type of lamp?
   

   Lightscape Producers will power any filament based lamp, for example halogen lamps. They will not support fluorescent or inductive loads like transformers.
9. Is the Lightscape system limited to just use in gardens?
   

   The Lightscape system can be used anywhere you wish to control light. For examples courtyards, conservatories, foyers, lobbies, chalets and pool houses / areas.
10. How many producers can I add?
    

    An infinite number of producers can be added to the system though only 12 unique addresses are available meaning you will only have individual control over 96 channels.
11. What warranty options come with the system?
    

    We are so confident with the quality of our products we offer a two year warranty as standard. If you wish to extend this further, options are available to do so and we can even offer an annual service contract which can include software upgrades, lamp repositioning and colour filter changes, maintenance, installation of additional effects and features.
12. I want to line my driveway with lamps, light up the barbeque area in the main garden and the pool area then depending on the occasion have the lamps respond to different things is this possible?
    

    Yes, this is what the Lightscape system is designed to do. In fact, you may also want to light pathways, terraces and water features as well as have a handful of lights gently chasing around an impressive tree and all at the same time as above.
13. Can I connect sensors so that a certain lighting scene is triggered when movement is sensed?
    

    The director currently has support for one wired input which can be effectively used if you wanted the driveway lights to come on when motion is sensed for example. For more flexibility we are currently developing a wireless input slave that will accept inputs from multiple sensors with out the constraint of having a cable run back to the Director.
14. I have programmed lots of great scenes and I now want to show them in succession with cross-fade transitions. Is this possible?
    

    This is one of the main features of Lightscape. You even have the option to state the duration of the scene and the length of the cross fade.
15. What are the power supply requirements?
    

    Lightscape is designed to run of a UK mains supply and should be installed and cabled appropriately by a qualified electrician.
16. I want to reduce the overall brightness of all the lamps is this possible?
    

    Yes, with just a simple press of a button you can reduce the overall brightness of all then lamps. If you wish you can also increase the minimum brightness so the no matter what is happening in the scene the lamps will never go completely off which allows for a degree of background lighting while still maintain the overall dynamic effect.
17. Could light pollution be an issue?
    

    Light pollution is limited by the power ratings, normal consideration in positioning of all lights is a formality to protect neighbours outlook.
18. Can I use my own existing lights?
    

    Providing the lamps are mains voltage and non inductive or fluorescent they will be compatible with the Lightscape system. However they must be less than 150 W.
19. Lights - Can the lights be fitted inside a conservatory or other room?
    

    Yes, a Producer can be plugged into any 13A socket within 100m of the Director, lights can be concealed within the room to produce the best mood lighting. These can then be used for individual room mood lighting or as part of the overall display.
20. Audio -Where does the music source need to be located?
    

    Anywhere a cable can be connected between it and the Director, the speakers can be positioned according to the location of your viewing areas, inside or out. If you need more flexibility then a 4GHz AV sender could be used to transmit the audio source to the director.
21. Audio - Can you supply an audio system
    

    Yes, Lightscape will soon be offering the latest wireless network based streaming systems to complement your wireless lighting controller. With the addition of outdoor speakers your favourite MP3’s can be streamed to almost anywhere in your house and garden from a central hard drive.
22. Security - How and which lights operate in the security mode.
    

    The Director control unit currently supports one trigger input which can be connected to a range of sensing devices. As soon as a trigger occurs the Lightscape Director will jump to the specified pre-programmed sequence which will consist of the lighting scenes you specify.
23. How are my children protected from electrocution from touching the lights or wiring?
    

    The Lightscape Producer must be fitted with an RCD breaker which in the event of a live wire been exposed and subsequently touched should disconnect the mains power supply to the system. The Producer is house in a tough Polycarbonate enclosure and all exposed metallic parts are earthed.
24. Can the Director be used to operate features other than lights?
    

    Currently the Director will communicate an address followed by a level between 0 and 256. A producer is currently in development that will translate this signal to enable control of water pumps and drive of servo motors.
25. Is it easy to programme the Director?
    

    Programming scenes from menu system on the front panel is relatively straightforward however entering the scenes into a sequence and specifying duration and cross fade times can be a little more challenging the first time. Once programmed recalling scenes and playing back sequences is very straight forward.
26. Can I interface a computer to a Director?
    

    Lightscape is currently developing software that will allow scenes and sequences to be programmed directly from a PC and downloaded to a Lightscape memory card. Future developments also include and RS232 port which will enable a Crestron controller to be interfaced to the Lightscape Director.
27. Can I daisy chain the power supply from one Producer to another?
    

    Yes, but there is a limit to the amount of power that can be passed through one slave to another. Where all channels have a 150 w load connected only one additional slave can be connected in series with another.
28. What functions can I control from the remote control?
    

    The remote control will allow you to select 15 scenes and directly access Scene 1. It also allows you to dim channels that have been assigned as sliders in a scene. You can also change Genre and control the master dimmer.
29. Does the remote control only work on line of sight?
    

    No, the remote control uses radio frequencies which gives you greater flexibility and means that you do not need to point the remote at the director.
30. What can I do if my audio system only has a speaker level output?
    

    Lightscape can offer a speaker line converter that will convert your speaker level inputs to the line level required by the Director.
